Volos - Pelion

Ski resort

At the top of the mountain home of the Centaurs you will find Pelion ski centre, “Agriolefkes”, 2 km away from Chania, Pelion, and 27 km from Volos. There are three parking lots fitting more than 800 cars, a chalet, a restaurant, ski & snowboard equipment rental-sale, and a doctor’s office.

In addition, there is a ski & snowboarding school that offers special training for children aged 3 years old and over by experienced instructors.

And if you are lucky to visit Nea Anchialos during the summer, you should not miss the biggest event in the region, the Wine Festival.

The Wine Festival of Nea Anchialos is an institution in this town, since it was first organized in 1960, and there is always much excitement and fun similar to the one that existed during the grape harvest in Anchialos of Eastern Rumelia.

Continuing this tradition, the Wine Festival of Nea Anchialos is held every August attracting a large number of visitors from Volos and the wider area of Thessaly. It is an event with plenty of free wine, music, famous artists and folk dance next to the sea.

Skiathos

The Holy Monastery of Panagia Odigitria was founded in 1961 and is located 12 km away from Volos, near Portaria of Pelion at an altitude of 620 metres, overlooking Volos and the Pagasetic Gulf.
